The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) is the only independent 501(c)(3) organization dedicated solely to restoring and protecting the Chesapeake Bay and its tributary rivers.

Since its founding 40 years ago, the goal has been to improve water quality by reducing pollution. The CBF motto, Save the Bay, has been the battle cry for that goal.

The Boatyard pledges over one percent of its annual sales to CBF and a few other environmental conservercy groups.

The Boatyard runs the largest fundraiser for CBF - Bands In The Sand each June on CBF's beautiful beach in Annapolis.  In 2007 the event raised $130,000 net and had approximately 1,000 guests. This years event will be Saturday, June 21.

CBF also is the major beneficiary of the Boatyard's Opening Day Spring Fishing Tournament. The Boatyard's Owner, Dick Franyo, is a Trustee of CBF.
