The Boatyard Bar & Grill donates more than one percent of its sales to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and other environmental causes.

We are a member of One Percent For The Planet which was started by Patagonia Corp founder Yvon Chouinard and includes singer-surfer star Jack Johnson.

The Boatyard runs the Bands In The Sand event at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (this years 3rd annual on Sat June 21st 2008) which last year netted $130,000 for CBF and had over 1,000 people in attendence. We also run the largest Opening Day Fishing Tournament (this years 7th annual will be held Sat April 19th) which has raised well over $100,000 for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the Coastal Conservation Association, MD chapter and the Annapolis Police Dept. Youth Fishing Camp for at-risk kids.

This year we are holding on Wed. March 19 a special event to honor fly fishing legend Lefty Krey at the Boatyard Market space to hopefully raise $40,000 for the Coastal Conservation Association MD chapter. Dick Franyo, the Boatyard's owner serves as a Trustee of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. The Boatyard has recycled all glass and paper since its opening in 2001. The Boatyard also installed a washdown room for all mats and trash cans which goes through its grease trap as opposed to nutrient rich grease going into the stormwater system.
